Built in the 1740s
King George's War ran from 1744 to 1748 and colonial troops took the French fortress at Louisbourg in 1745. The Great Awakening reached its height and split many congregations, which led to a wave of new meeting houses. Benjamin Franklin's Philadelphia was becoming the largest city in British North America.
